I bought this expecting an outstanding USB3 SSD. 2TB in something the size of a few credit cards to QUICKLY backup important data and keep it safely away from ransomware attacks on my NAS with an air-gap because we can NEVER trust QNAP not to expose users to malware AGAIN since they keep doing it.However, just 8 weeks later this Samsung hardware has failed. When not in use, it was kept extremely carefully in a soft pouch inside a watertight box to avoid any moisture or other damage. The blue light came on then went red and it does not show up as a drive. I tried different cables, different USB ports, all with the same result. What a waste of time and money. So much for paying a premium price for a top of the range piece of hardware. If I store data on a solid state storage device I expect it to remain accessible for a long time, probably over 10 years. This rubbish has not managed 10 weeks and Samsung's technicians should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves for taking a salary in retun for doing such an appalling job.I had planned to buy a second Samsung SSD so I could alternate the backups but this pile of junk has been so unreliable I am not only not going to buy a second Samsung SSD I will never buy Samsung brand memory again in future. Premium price but clearly not even basic quality control. We rely on technology and especially storage and to fail this quickly is utterly inexcusable.Anyone reading my on-line reviews will be in no doubt that at least in the opinion of this extremely dissatisfied purchaser, this is an SSD to avoid. We consumers buy back-up devices for peace of mind. On that score, Samsung has scored zero. Not to be trusted.I never store files in "The Cloud". I carry all my data and clients' data inside the laptop or external SSD's. This one is smaller than most except SD cards or USB thumb drive. Bought it for the 2Tb capacity which is useful for backing up and carry music and movie files while on 2 - 3 month assignments...... but due to lockdown are not happening. So this is temporary review with netural score of 3 stars. My purchasing decision was based on the fact that I carry many pieces of equipment in my mobile office, a some of them Samsung branded. None of these failed while on work assignment where I been to places where temperatures went down to -30 and other places +54 hence I stick to purchasing well known brands because of the QA/QC before these leave the factory. (Lesson from my first project with a new bells-&-whistles laptop I bought for the job was made in Taiwan with little known name although UK company selling always had double page advert in computer magazines. Big mistake, laptop failed during the first few days.)Bought Samsung as have had past SSDs. This one arrived in an already opened box and didn’t work on Apple Mac or Windows. Returned via Amazon locker 5 days ago.Great value, fast SSD but as it is bigger than the T5 it doesn't fit in my camera's external SSD drive holder.Great storage. All our videos have been copied on to it and it is plugged into out smart Tv. Works a dream. If wqe go awway on hoilday we take it with us to watch on a laptop.
