I wanted a keyboard for my Tab S and this Samsung Keyboard Case I bought in September 2016 fit the bill. It is requires Bluetooth, & can be used while charging the keyboard while connected via Bluetooth. The keyboard has flat soft keys that are very good, while not completely tactile. The keyboard does take getting used to, but has a layout similar to laptop keyboards. One just needs to get used to where certain keys are placed, like the DELETE key. There is a Secondary Function key, FN (next to the CTRL key), to access certain features & system keys; the FN key acts like the SHIFT key, in this respect. One places the tablet into the slot located above the Function Key row, either in landscape or portrait mode to use the keyboard; there is also a smaller slot for smartphones located in the center of the larger tablet slot. The keyboard also has Android OS System Keys along the top sharing the same row as the Function Keys (F-Keys): BACK, HOME (F1), TASKS (F2), APPS (F3), DOT MENU(F4), DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS (F5 & F6), SOUND (F7 & F8), PLAYBACK CONTROLS (F10-F12). The last three keys have two dual purpose keys: SEARCH/S-FINDER, MULTI-WINDOW/SCREENSHOT (My favorite key), & the single function DELETE. One needs to use the FN key to perform some actions, such as using the F-Keys & navigation keys. The keyboard also has a Soft Onscreen Keyboard Display key next to the ALT key. But it won't open the Soft Keyboard in some apps, like the AndrOpen Office app I'm using at the moment. I thought this would allow me to change keyboards, but no. The page navigation keys (HOME, END, PAGE UP/DN), all of which are on the ARROW KEY PAD, are accessed by the FN key. There is even a dedicated Language key (LANG), which if you're not careful may hit by mistake & change the default language for your keyboard while typing. Perhaps that should have been placed as a FN key.The Keyboard Case also serves as a single side cover for the Tab S. The case is made of a hard plastic, that can protect the screen of the tablet while placed against the keyboard. When using it as a screen cover, one flips the tablet over & slides the top of the tablet into the slot & places it against the keyboard. There is a small clip that keeps the tablet in place. Again, this is to protect the tablet screen, it does not offer complete protection for the tablet, as the back & sides are exposed. The keyboard can be used for any device that can use a wireless keyboard, such as smartphones, PCs, & Smart TVs. Paring the keyboard is standard, & has a button on the keyboard itself that one presses for engaging the Pairing mode. The ON/OFF switch is located behind the keyboard, opposite the Bluetooth pairing button. This keyboard is very durable, as after seven years of use still functions & is still a great purchase. For now, as I am using it to write this review, I have no need to replace it.
