I'm sorry for all those writing one star reviews. My experience was exceptional. I went with the S8 Orchid Gray. I'm a little sad to find out that the photos of "Orchid" show purple, when in reality there is no tinge of purple as far as I can see, it appears to only be gun metal gray. Either way - that's irrelevant. Read on for an in depth product review. Hoping this helps others out.--THE PROS--This is THE ABSOLUTE BEST phone I've ever had in my entire life. Let's begin listing off all the things I'm stunned and blown away by.1) The HD screen is unspeakably beautiful, the colors so rich and creamy its as good as a 4k television (or better!). Blown away at the resolution. Every time I turn on the phone I'm speechless. I've been using my phone for ONE WEEK before writing this review, and had no idea this phone was so high tech. I previously had a Huawei Mate 7. Now after comparing, The Mate 7 is STONE AGE in comparison. Let's talk about why... Moving on..2) SECURITY in THREE ways: The Samsung Galaxy 8 has one of the most sensitive fingerprint readers I've ever used. My Huawei had one too, but it never worked properly (was junk). Half the time it didn't recognize my finger print. This one is ridiculously accurate and I use it to turn my phone on instead of a password. The moment it touches my finger it snaps into full functioning mode. You also have the option of registering your IRIS - that's right your actual IRIS. You can use your Iris to log into your phone, or even to log into your various accounts (banks, aps, etc). I chose not to activate this because of articles I've read concerning people having their eyes damaged. I rather not shine a red beam into my eye, but thanks Samsung. I am sure the technology is incredible. There is also high tech Facial recognition you can use - just another thing I prefer to not use. Feels to "big brother" for my liking. Hopefully in the future we won't be forced to use these functions by LAW just to operate in the world. Still, incredible technology.3) ANOTHER awesome scanner embedded on the phone is the S8's ability to ACCURATELY record your heart beat, oxygen, and stress levels. The Samsung HEALTH app has been INCREDIBLE! You can add "Workout Programs" for free, schedule doctor visits and SEE a doctor via the WEB CAM from the comfort of your own home using your insurance (WOW, really? Yes Really). They have a whole list of top rated providers (with reviews) that are willing to see you. There are games and challenges you can set up with your friends for fitness, and all sorts of things. This is one awesome app. I am most impressed. Call me "behind the times", but I hadn't realized Samsung was offering all of this! I now check my heart rate through out the day, and have been able to see which foods are causing stress on my system, and which are helping my heart. Clearly, red meat sends my heart into over drive. Now I have the proof and can monitor my heart health before and after workouts, at rest, and after I've ingested certain foods for educational purposes.4) Gosh what else, the phone is LIGHTENING fast. The processor is super quick. My old Huawei moved like a slug and was always freezing up. This phone just FEELS substantial, has good weight, and did I forget to mention it also has a GORILLA glass screen? I ended up cracking my old Huawei due to the cheap glass use which is why I was on the hunt for a new phone. This Samsung feels like it has glass with the same quality as my car's windshield.5) CAMERA CAMERA CAMERA! If you are looking for a high depth high resolution camera, this is it. This camera almost has the same quality as my Professional Nikon. Kinda blown away at that. I'll try to upload photos later of the phone itself in use, and of some photos it can take.TIPS AND ADVICE --- I've seen a lot of complains about it not being unlocked. I would recommend covering your bases. This Amazon listing is listed as being T-MOBILE, but supposedly "Unlocked". I simply made sure that my third party carrier USED the T-mobile towers. It does - MINT mobile. I popped in the Mint Mobile Sim card, copied the port # and password, and boom - I was in. So I would recommend trying to stick with a third party mobile company that is also using the T-mobile towers. Or at least try transferring to one if you're still having problems getting it to match up with a Sim card. MINT has amazing reception and I'm very impressed.OVERALL CONDITION AT ARRIVAL -- Last but not least, the phone arrived in MINT PERFECT condition. I ordered on the 11th, and it was here on the 13th via UPS. How's that for speed? Less than two days later? WOW! Yes, it was in a regular white box, but the phone itself didn't have a single scratch, and appeared to be barely used. Probably just a "trade in" from some one wanting the new 9. Totally worth it. I feel like I just got a $750 dollar phone for $280. Well, I did! THANK YOU to the seller! Amazon is also giving me till MAY to try this phone. Should anything go wrong, its covered and I can get it exchanged. That's great service on Amazon's part to offer 3 months of insurance here.ONLY CON I CAN THINK OF ---Battery life. Samsung boasts about this phone having 32 hour sof battery life, but even with all my APPS turned OFF, it still runs the battery quickly. More quickly than my old Huawei sadly. Drains quickly and I have to charge it every day. It will last for 24 hours, I'll give it that. But not 32.IF any one has any questions, feel free to ask!Over all, I am TOTALLY impressed with this phone. This phone is very nice and looks new. No visible scratches at all. Works like a champ. The phone calls are clear. The only problem is the charger which doesn't work. At first, I thought the phone was damage because I tried different cables that I purchased recently and it was not charging at all. I tried the amazon basic charger and it works fine. I contacted the seller and they respond right away and sending a replacement charger. I also brought my phone to T-Mobile because my simcard from S5 is too big for S8. T mobile able to give me a new sim card for free. I will update my review after several months of use.update:Feb 15, 2020 - After 9 months, The phone doesn't charge anymore. I tried 3 different wire charger and it doesn't work. I tried the wireless charger from walmart and the phone doesn't charge at all. I order a wireless charger from amazon. The charger will arrive tomorrow . We will see if the phone will charge. I'll give another update once I tried tomorrow. For now, I change my review from 5 star to 4 star because of the charging issue eventhough the phone is durable.Feb 19,2020 - I tried charging the phone with anker wireless charger that I bought from Amazon and it works like a charm. I think the walmart wireless charger was defective. The phone also works with T mobile, ATT. It doesn't work with Republic Wireless. I wish it does. I also clean the charger site with safety pin and there was a plastic coating around. I remove the plastic coating and it is charging fine now using the regular charger but I prefer the wireless charger. I still like my phone. I was so mad last time. I thought I need to buy a new one but the phone still works like new and charge fine.I bought this phone as an unlocked T Mobil phone. The first one i got turned on and said it was a verizon phone. I requested a replacement, and , got one though it took a week. The next phone I got did the same thing, Verizon. I requested to cancel the order. I also sent the seller a note telling him how disappointed I was as the ad clearly stated it was a T Mobil phone. They wrote me back and said that as soon as i put in the SIM card the verizon logo would go away and that the phone would work without issue. I did not believe them but I did as told. They were correct. Once the sim card was installed, and, a few reboots, the phone now says Tmobile and it works great. It is a shame that a note of some sort on the ad saying this is not included as I was without a phone needlessly for 2 weeks. Its a great phone, looks new, and is working well.A little extra words in the description on the sim card issue and I would have rated this a 5 start transactionGreat buy! I like upgrading my phones but don't want to have the latest model available. Refurbished phones allow me to have a "new" phone without spending an arm and a leg. I think the latest version is the S20. But coming from having an S6, I'm quite happy with my new S8. It is everything the reviews say it is. But my biggest woohoo goes to the vendor who I ordered from on Monday night and received on Thursday morning! Delivery notifications didn't show it arriving until Monday and with Christmas right around the corner, I was expecting it to be here on Monday or later. Great job!Honestly I could not tell if this was a used phone untill I look closely on the back where there was a minor blemish, only visible at an angle. Then again I had ordered a cover, as we all do) so wallah.BUT, I have to say this was my first Samsung Galaxy and I am not too happy with its charging ability and battery consumption. But since I have bought it, I will use it, just ordered a few cables so I have one in both mine and my wife's car as well as couple at home in different rooms.
